In episode 1 of Bake Monogatari Koyomi Araragi (your average "I just recovered from being a vampire" male student) meets Hitagi Senjōgahara (the quiet pretty girl that never talks to anyone) as she quite literally falls into his arms. After saving her life the two talk and Hitagi threatens him. After the initial shock of having a stapler shoved into his mouth wears off, Koyomi decides to help out Hitagi and takes her to see Meme (some middle aged guy who helped him "stop being a vampire").
For me, the most surprising thing about this episode for me was its ability to match Rosario+Vampire's capability to have a "panty-shot" within the first 10 seconds of an anime. Still not quite sure what to expect, though the anime is very "pretty". The lines are all contoured in red and the whole show has an "artsy" feel to it. Also the animations themselves are all very smooth looking. Looking forward to the next episode.
